Express Youself with Bangled Bracelets

When I think of a bangled bracelet images of ancient cultures surrounded in mystery and intrigue come into my head. Okay, I have been watching a lot of Agatha Christie’s Poirot lately and the orient settings may be influencing me a bit, but truly I love the feel of a bangled bracelet. Whether they are made of metals, wood or plastics, they have a musical sound as they slip 'round and 'round your wrist. I adore stacking them to increase the colors and sound. They come in so many shapes and colors and can be matched with everything or be a secret statement only you know about.

Acturally, bangles are very ancient decorations, dating back over 5,000 years ago. This 4,500 BC figure was found in 1926 by Ernest MacKay in a province of Sindh, Pakistan. She is called the “Dancing Girl” and is nude except for her bangles. In 1973, a British archaeologist, Mortimer Wheeler said this was his favorite statue and describes her:

"She's about fifteen years old I should think, not more, but she stands there with bangles all the way up her arm and nothing else on. A girl perfectly, for the moment, perfectly confident of herself and the world. There's nothing like her, I think, in the world."

I think that about sums up how exactly how I feel when wearing a bangled bracelet - Confident and nothing like it in the world!

Keep your gardening simple

I love to garden, but time is always an issue, so I love tips that I find that make live easy and simple. Paul James from Gardening by the Yard always has great ideas; Click here for 14 Simple Gardening tips

I especially love the idea of soap under your nails. I always wear gloves, but seem to wear them through at the finger tips and have dirt and grime that takes a forever to remove. I will definitively be trying this tip. Also, I liked the idea of marking measurements on the shovel handle and string in the pot to keep it from tangling. Very clever, indeed!
